Publication Fees
At the Unveiling Seven Continents Yearbook (U7Y Journal), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic rigor, independent peer review, and sustainable open-access publishing. To manage the high volume of submissions and deter frivolous applications while protecting authors from unnecessary costs, the journal operates on a structured, multi-tiered fee model.
1. Initial Submission Fee
To cover basic administrative handling and maintain high scholarly standards, a symbolic, non-refundable Submission Fee of CHF 29 is required at the time of uploading the manuscript. This ensures all submissions receive proper administrative processing and an initial desk review by the Editor-in-Chief.
2. Preliminary Editorial Assessment Fee
If a manuscript successfully passes the initial desk review and is deemed suitable to proceed to formal double-blind peer review, a non-refundable Editorial Assessment Fee of CHF 2,000 applies to manuscripts of up to 10,000 words. This fee is strictly utilized to support the intensive professional resources required at this stage, including the administrative coordination of securing highly qualified independent reviewers and the management of the peer-review process.
Please note: Payment of this assessment fee does not guarantee acceptance. All editorial decisions are made completely independently of financial considerations, and manuscripts that do not meet our rigorous academic standards during peer review will be rejected regardless of fee payment.
3. Article Processing Charge (APC)
If a manuscript successfully passes peer review and is formally accepted for publication, an Article Processing Charge (APC) applies to cover the final production stages. This includes typesetting, online hosting, DOI registration, open-access dissemination, and long-term digital preservation.
The APC is calculated at CHF 1 per word, with a minimum threshold of CHF 1,900 and a maximum cap of CHF 5,000 per article.
Invited Papers and Call for Papers (CFP)
The U7Y Journal actively curates targeted research addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other critical academic paradigms.

APC Discounts: A standard 50% discount on the final APC is automatically applied to accepted manuscripts submitted in response to a specific Call for Papers. For manuscripts formally invited by the Editorial Board, a discount of up to 100% on the APC is possible.
-
In other exceptional cases, fee adjustments may be considered at the sole discretion of the Editors-in-Chief.
No Hidden Charges
There are no additional fees for color figures, tables, supplementary materials, or reference lists. All accepted manuscripts receive the same level of premium editorial and production support. All fees are quoted in Swiss Francs (CHF) and are payable to ISBM AG, Switzerland.
Editorial Independence
Editorial and peer-review decisions are made independently of financial considerations. Fees support operational sustainability and do not influence manuscript evaluation outcomes.
